Turks on the water

Day of exploration by dinghy on the magnificent turquoise waters of the surroundings.

Grace Bay Beach, nearly 5 km (3 miles) long, is reputed to be one of the most beautiful in the world. The most active will be spoiled in terms of the activities offered, ranging from sailing to diving, kayaking, SUP or personal watercraft, the possibilities are numerous, but you can also just rest and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. On our side, we continue our exploration to Half Moon Bay, but as the waves are quite violent, we decide to go on the other side of Ignana Island and make a short stop for a picnic on a beach in the Princess Alexandr National Park after passing very close to Noah’s Ark Beach Club which was unfortunately closed, but which seems an interesting destination for an afternoon with friends! It is a floating bar where you can moor your boat for a drink and it is a very popular place with tourists.

After a meal with our feet in the sand and a refreshing swim, we continue to Long Beach, a beach that has nothing to envy to Grace Bay and which is very popular with kite surfing and windsurfing enthusiasts, to get a closer look at the wreck of the ship LA FAMILLE EXPRESS, which was stranded during Hurricane Frances in 2004.

Don’t be fooled by the distance; the wreck, although visible from the beach is much further away than it seems and is absolutely not swimmable!

At the time of our visit, several people were taking the risk of climbing the wreckage, which is strongly discouraged for obvious reasons.

We are just waiting for another mild day to explore the seabed by snorkeling
