Charlottetown, Prince-Edward-Island

Charlottetown captured my heart more than 20 years ago and I still love walking its pretty streets with historic houses and its majestic waterfront.

The city is dynamic and the arts are present everywhere. It is an ideal destination for boats with two marinas and a yacht club directly in town, but also for RVs with magnificent campsites not far from town and all the other must-see attractions. We are never much more than 30 minutes away from something beautiful or good for the senses!

The food offer is also varied and delicious and it is the ideal place for seafood and ice cream’s lovers, because Cows is reputed to be the best in the world… my favorite is the Gooey Mooey, but I leave it to you to do your tests!

It is also a paradise for cycling lovers, as this sport can be practiced everywhere on the Island, the old railway having been transformed into magnificent cycle paths. Some places will allow you to observe the force of Mother Nature and the damage caused by the last two major hurricanes to have affected the Island, Dorian and Fiona.

Being surrounded by water, the parks (federal and provincial) are all very close to the beaches, whether white sand on the north side or warm waters on the south side, there is something for everyone, without forget the one where the sand sings!

It is also a small paradise for water sports enthusiasts of all kinds, here people have salt water in their veins and we are on or in the water as soon as the weather is mild and even when it is less in November when surfers take to the waves on the north side!

And what about the sunrises and sunsets, except that they are breathtaking! It’s up to you whether you’re a morning bird or a night owl… or both!

This will be our starting point for this crossing of Canada in RV and despite the fact that I have already written several articles on this destination dear to my heart, I thought of putting it for those who plan to visit the Atlantic Provinces this year: it’s a destination not to be missed!
