Today we explored the marina and resort and did some "cleaning up" after the long crossing.
These more relaxed days are always well appreciated by the captain and his crew and by the surrounding crews (but to find out why, you have to read on…) It’s time to get organized for the next few days of exploring and planning, always depending on the weather, what our next excursions will be.
As mentioned in my previous article, the people here are nice and very welcoming. Bruce, the marina manager personally made sure we were happy and even the customs officers were friendly and efficient! For immigration and customs procedures, a permit will be issued to you at a cost of US$100 if you plan to stay less than 7 days, otherwise it will cost you US$300 for a stay valid up to 90 days, all renewable once.
The marina is well maintained, black water emptying and diesel refueling can be done directly at our dock and these are washed and brushed regularly. My only downside is the “no wake zone” which is not respected by local companies that do charters in the area and the lack of laundry facilities. On the other hand, we were offered to have our laundry done by the hotel if necessary.
